FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long does it
take?
Generally, our
turnaround time on most frames is about two weeks.
We do, however, carry many finished corner frames that can take
longer (around 4-6 weeks). If
you need something rushed, we can usually accommodated it depending on
availability of materials and time frame desired.
Please note that there is an additional fee for this service to
cover the extra costs of expediting product.
Will my artwork
leave the premises?
All framing is done
on the premises unless otherwise noted.
These exceptions usually apply to special mounting or plexi
encapsulation. If your
artwork is valuable, we encourage you to consult your insurance
company and have it insured while it is on the premises.
Why is there no
wire on the back of my piece?
We generally try to
wire everything when we can, but if the piece is large or heavy, we insist
that you hang it directly from the D-rings.
By doing this, the weight will be more evenly distributed and
allow for less tension on the rails and corners of the frame.
From our experience, avoiding serious damage and injury is
always worth the little bit of extra time and precision it takes to
hang with D-rings. If you
need assistance, we recommend you phone Reginaldo Acioli
(212-366-5991), a professional art installer who has experience with
this type of hanging system.
What if I can’t
find a frame that I like?
If you aren’t
satisfied with the selection of samples we have in our showroom, ask
us about special ordering an item or custom fabrication.
We can also sometimes modify finishes and dimensions on a
number of the frames we carry.
What is the largest
size you can frame?
As long as it will
fit out of our door, we can frame it.
Please keep in mind that if the piece needs glazing, the
largest sheet available is 102”x156”.
On very rare occasions we have framed pieces on-site.
